Specialized Packaging Group Ranked 28th On Black Enterprise Magazine’s Top 100s

Hamden, CT (November 13, 2008), The Specialized Packaging Group, Inc, (SPG) has been ranked 28th on Black Enterprise Magazine’s 2008 Annual B.E. 100s list, a ranking conducted annually for black-owned businesses with exceptional sales revenues. The company had revenues of over $150 million in 2007.

The B.E. 100s were established in 1973 as a way to recognize the contributions and growth of black owned businesses in America. In total, BE 100s companies employ over 87,000 people and generated revenues of more than $22B. A company must be at least 51% black-owned and must have been fully operational for the previous calendar year to be considered.

Black Enterprise Magazine was founded in 1970 as a means to provide news, career management tips, investment advice, and recognition to black business owners and professionals. The magazine has a current readership of nearly 4 million, most of whom are college-educated professionals and entrepreneurs. Black Enter­prise subscriptions are divided equally among men and women.
